Winter Vengeance Tournament Added to All-America Offerings
Baltimore, Md. (November 17, 2020) — Corrigan Sports Enterprises announced today the inaugural All-America Winter Vengeance Lacrosse Tournament is scheduled for January 16–17, 2021 at the Tournament Sportsplex of Tampa Bay in Tampa, Fla. The invitational event is open exclusively to this year’s Highlight and Command teams from all 12 regions as well as the individuals who competed in the Spotlight competition during All-America Championship weekend in October.
Lee Corrigan, president of CSE, said, “We’re excited to extend the All-America lacrosse brand and provide regional teams and individuals with the
additional opportunity to test themselves against the nation’s best. The pandemic has forced the sport and tournament hosts to navigate ever-changing circumstances and we take pride in our flexibility to give the players a chance to participate safely.”
This year’s Super Regionals and Championship Weekend fell short of giving athletes, coaches and families the full All-America experience. The Winter Vengeance tournament ushers in a new year and welcomes all regional teams to gather and compete with true All-America intensity.
As NCAA regulations continue to prohibit off-campus recruiting for most college coaches, the importance and utilization of game film continues to play a major role in the process. More than 3,100 college coaches registered individually to watch game film of 761 All-America tournament games and regional tryouts in 2020. All Winter Vengeance games will be videotaped and provided free to college coaches.
Additionally, CSE plans to broadcast the championship game in each division (Highlight, Command) live and make them accessible to fans, families, and coaches around the country.
