Corrigan Sports Official Statement

As of this past Wednesday we were in the midst of discussions of whether to continue our wildly successful, decade-long partnership with the IWLCA or negotiate a new arrangement beyond this year. Corrigan Sports has been the IWLCA’s partner since 2010.
Contrary to the IWLCA’s announcement earlier today, Corrigan Sports Enterprises plans to host the scheduled 2020 New England Cup, Junk Brands Midwest Cup, STX Capital Cup, Junk Brands Champions Cup and Brine Presidents Cup Presented by New Balance. We regret that the IWLCA Board of Directors has decided to step away from its “official involvement” with the tournaments this year.
Our players, club coaches, parents and college coaches can all be assured that CSE continues to be committed to producing the very best events in the sport.
For more than a decade CSE has delivered outstanding recruiting opportunities for tens of thousands of student-athletes and hundreds of college lacrosse programs. Lee Corrigan, CSE president, said, “Our staff
established the standard by which all other tournaments are judged, and we plan to build upon that moving forward. Players, parents, club coaches can all look forward even more college coach involvement. We will be adding a number of improvements and ancillary events to our already very successful formats”.
Regarding the challenges of the coronavirus pandemic we will be working closely with state and local health officials in every jurisdiction to make our events as safe as possible for our participants, coaches, refs and parents. Without feedback from local and state health officials we feel it is premature to project cancellation decisions for the rest of the year. Even with that, we are working diligently to reschedule certain tournaments if necessary. We do have alternative dates already in place if events get pushed back.
