Highlight Division Teams for Rising Seniors to be Invite Only with Other Regional Teams Selected at Tryouts

Baltimore, Md. (October 31, 2023) — Today Corrigan Sports Enterprises announced its plans for the 2024 edition of All-America lacrosse. Entering its 19th year, the event will once again feature three divisions in each region, for each gender — the Command Division, the Burn Division and the Highlight Division. The Command Division will include players from the 2027 and 2028 high school graduation years. The Burn Division will feature 2026 players while the Highlight Division will exclusively feature 2025 players.

New for the 2024 cycle, the Highlight Division rosters for each region will be selected on an invitation-only basis. All-America event partners at Inside Lacrosse will identify ten (10) players to invite in each region. The coaching staff in each region will also identify invited players to complete the roster. Players invited to participate in the Highlight Division will have the chance to prove that they deserve a place in the prestigious Senior All-America game the following year. Invitations to Highlight players will be announced in the Spring of 2024. The selection process for the Burn and Command divisions will remain tryout-based.

“We are determined to continually improve the relevance and impact of the All-America event,” commented Lee Corrigan, President of Corrigan Sports and the founder of All-America Lacrosse. “Making the Highlight teams invite-only adds to the intensity of the Underclass tournament. It promises to be a Best-of-the-Best competition that will showcase players who are hungry to earn an invitation to the Senior game. This further engages our regional coaches and our friends at Inside Lacrosse. The IL team already does an unbelievable job with the Senior game selections. Managing the Highlight selection process is a natural extension of our partnership.”

“The ecosystem of summertime lacrosse changes constantly, and it’s necessary to evolve in order to maintain a best-in-class standard,” IL CEO Terry Foy says. “For the last (almost) two decades, that’s exactly what the All-America platform has done: evolve. This is a natural next step in order to continue to offer the best possible experience for athletes and coaches on the ultimate weekend of the summer recruiting calendar.”

Lee Corrigan also noted, “We are working with our priority partner New Balance to elevate the custom uniforms and gear packages for the Highlight players. We plan to provide players in the Highlight division (both Boys and Girls) with custom footwear from New Balance, along with distinctive uniforms. The All-America player experience has always been second-to-none. And we expect the 2024 event to deliver a memorable experience for all participants.”

Command, Burn and Highlight teams will represent 12 different regions: Baltimore, CONNY, Long Island, Midwest, New England, New Jersey, Philadelphia, South, Southwest, Upstate New York, Washington DC and West. Registrations for the regional tryouts in the Burn and Command divisions are open now with dates and venues to be released as available.

The All-America main event will return to Maryland in 2024. The Underclass tournament will open play on Friday, July 26 and conclude on Championship Sunday, July 28. The Underclass games will be played at Blandair and Troy Parks in Howard County. The annual Senior All-America games are scheduled for Saturday, July 27 at Johns Hopkins University’s Homewood Field. The Senior games will once again serve as the premier showcase for high school lacrosse players.
